Of course we are hard at work getting every little part of the Fantasy Awards 19/20 organised, but we shouldn’t forget to take a moment to spend time with friends and family. And sometimes, we can combine the two! ^_^

Next Tuesday we will be joined by CeltCast’s good friend Philip Steenbergen for a whole new ‘Live in the Livingroom’ session at CeltCast HQ!

With Philip’s incredible history in the folk scene, his brand new album, (which Cliff just did a review on (see this webpage), and of course his upcoming performance at the Fantasy Awards, we’re quite sure we’ll have loads to talk about. As usual we welcome your questions too! Feel free to ask away here in the comments or in those of the livestream itself which we will be monitoring closely for that real-time interaction! 🙂

Join us online and come enjoy this little preview to the Fantasy Awards 19/20. To help you pass the time until Tuesday the 25th, here’s a video we made of Philip at Folk voor het goede doel (Folk for WWF) 2019:

THE NEW SERVER IS UP!!!

Hello music lovers and musicians! It’s time to celebrate!!!

Over the past five years, the CeltCast team has collected as much music as possible to provide our listeners with acoustic Celtic, Viking, Pagan, Pirate, and Folk music 24 hours a day. Last week we launched our CeltCast Radio’s playlist on Spotify. we also announced all the nominees AND the line-up for the Fantasy Awards in P60, March the 14th in Amstelveen . And today we have news again.
NEW SERVER, NEW PLAYLISTS!!!

Our radio station has been completely renewed into an even larger collection of music with completely updated playlists! We play more than 3 times as much music on our radio station as we do in our CeltCast Radio – Official playlist on Spotify. Thanks to a new way of working, we’re able to process newly supplied music in a short time through our radio station and on Spotify (if available) as well. Soon, track information will be displayed more fully. We hope that, through this renewal, we can carry out our mission to distribute Folk music all over the world even better!

But there is more, we made a documentary!!!

As a lot of hard work has been done in recent years, our social media team suggested doing an interview so that I could tell all of you about “the making of”. Well, actually I’m more a person that likes to be working behind the scenes but, I’m proud of our colleague Cato who followed me for a day to make a short “the making of the new radio station” documentary on YouTube! This movie gives our listeners and the artists a sneak preview behind the scenes. Of course, we hope you like it! Music of: Varend Volk (Plunder, Pyrolysis, The Royal Spuds) & Rapalje Celtic Folk Music.

On Monday mornings you can read about my musical journey for CeltCast on our Facebook page. Hope to ‘see’ you there in the comments!
That’s it for now. We wish you lots of listening pleasure!

Musical greetings,
Ilona CeltCast 😘

A message for musicians

New (and old) music can always be submitted, either digitally or through the mail. When the music is selected for airplay, we prefer to receive physical albums to digital ones because of legal reasons, plus the better starting point for possible reviews.
If the musician/band does not want or is unable to send an album, please give written permission to play the supplied digital music, to cover legal matters.

* Jingles * Jingles * Jingles *

Our radio station contains no advertisements. We do enjoy mixing creative jingles in our playlists. Should you or your band wish to send a jingle (WAV) of max. 30 seconds to say who you are and wish our listeners a lot of listening pleasure (in English) and/or maybe introduce a specific track, that would be fantastic! 🤩

The first review of 2020

Ritual Duir CD cover

It’s Wednesday again, but not only that, but it’s also the first of January, So from all of us here at CeltCast: A HAPPY AND MUSICAL NEW YEAR!!!

I can promise you this year is gonna be special, we have many treats and surprises that we are working on at the moment. None of them I can reveil, but all promising to be really good, so keep your eyes on this page and on our webpage 🙂

Now we can start 2020 with a bang. A personal bang anyway. Summer 2018 Alex Sealgaire introduced me to two lovely ladies from Spain who have become very dear to my heart, former Cuélebre singer Rose Avalon and Belenosa Sombra. Together they formed a new pagan folk band called Ritual Duir. I was allowed to follow their musical journey the last 1 1/2 years and fell in love with their music from the first moment I heard it.

So it is with real pride that I may reveal that the first review of 2020 is The Path Of Druids, by Ritual Duir.

Happy new year!

Wherever you are in the world, we wish you all a good 2020, filled with good health, love and beautiful music. 2020 will be a very special year for CeltCast, with the organisation of the Fantasy Awards 19/20, the building up of our foundation and all these awesome festivals and concert to visit.
We wish you will all share in our journey through 2020 and share in the beautiful folk music we encounter. Happy 2020!

With love,
The CeltCast team!

Happy New Year
