The CeltCast team has been waking up with a smile on our face!

What an amazing day we had yesterday in the kingdom of Elfia ! It was sunny, it was warm, it was loud, it was busy, it ws friendship, it was love, it was a party! What more could we have wished for as an amazing opener of the outdoor festival season? Nothing really.

They kicked off the morning with a nice little bit of Symphonic Metal by Cathubodua to wake us all up properly. Followed by the party tunes of Mumfords Calling , Sunfire and Greenrose Faire to match the relaxing atmosphere of the festival. To make the party complete, Ye Banished Privateers and The Spleen Orchestra – Tim Burton Show killed it on the main stage, while Plunder (with some stage crashing from half the Pyrolysis crew) threw a party on the Medieval stage!

There were balfolk sessions to teach people how to dance, there was a stage specifically designed for balfolk tunes and in another area of the fields, Sassenachs introduced the many visitors to bagpipes and drums.

The market was huge, the models and cosplays amazing! Most importantly it was fun to be in the Kingdom of Elfia… And the best thing? We are going to do it all over again today!

Celtcast at Fantasia Fest Leeft

You couldn’t have missed it but last weekend CeltCast was at Fantasia Fest Leeft .
We were invited by Friendly Folk Records and My Music Matters-MT to do livestreams and take pictures of their bands playing at this festival.
Next to the Friendly Folk bands, Pyrolysis , Gwendolyn Snowdon and The Royal Spuds . There were more artists there. The line up was made complete by HarPetra , Tailor Birds , Idisi and PerKelt .
All in all a line up to be proud off and almost all bands are well known by CeltCast. And those we didn’t know were very nice to be introduced too.

Fling

A month ago during Rapalje ‘s Zomerfolk festival we were introduced to the band Fling .
Fling played a brilliant energetic set of Irish folk that had a lot of people dancing.
Especially during the set in on the pub stage they got the crowed going.
We were happily surprised by this band. Their energy and joy in music was infectious.

Coming Festivals!

The week has only just begun, but we are looking toward the near future again! Next weekend will see a lot of CeltCast travelling, and of course streaming! Alex and Marielle will head up North in the Netherlands to a weekend full of music at Rapalje’s Zomerfolk Festival , with loads and loads of music. They will see for example Harmony Glen , PerKelt , The Dublin Legends and of course Rapalje Celtic Folk Music ! But that’s not all, there will be much, much more to see!

And in a first ever split effort Arjan will be flying to Spain to visit Festival Fantasía Epica Avalon Summer Faerie Fest 2017 at the very beautiful Castillo de Belmonte , where the music will be provided by not only our friends of Cuélebre and SeeD Pagan Folk , but also others like An Danzza and even CORVUS CORAX !

So all in all it will be a very busy and festive weekend, and if you can’t make it to either festival we strongly recommend you keep a close eye on our Facebook page, as we will be streaming as much as possible!
