Good morning music lovers!

We open the week again with an update about the albums that have been placed on the new server. There’s so much beautiful and timeless folk music! It’s very special to take a closer look at our “old” albums. My work is reaffirming that we are spreading a lot of positive vibes with all this fantastic music! 🍀

Most albums were old acquaintances, and there was also an older album of Skrömta (a highly energetic folk band), which we didn’t have in our collection yet. Great music with lots of energy! And, the beautiful album of HarPetra from 2018, which we acquired at Fantasy Fest Rijswijk a couple of weeks ago! Harp music to dream away with …
The Orfeo album from 2014 reminds us of a time that CeltCast wasn’t airing yet. Erica Lowis is still regularly in our thoughts. Her music collection supplemented ours when she sold it to us, for which we are still grateful.

And of course OMNIA, the band with which everything started for Alex Sealgaire and me ( Ilona CeltCast ). On the album “Live Religion” are recordings in a church, together with our friends of FAUN ! I hadn’t listened to this album for a long time. 🎻

Actually… there’s one thing all the albums in this photo have in common: they form a collection of special music and artists who have an important meaning to us, to our folk scene, the balfolk scene and therefore for CeltCast – Community Radio!

So… soon to hear on our new server:
OMNIA , Trolska Polska , Orfeo , Rapalje Celtic Folk Music , HarPetra , Skrömta , EmBRUN , LEAF ( Kati Rán ), FolkNoir , RASTABAN , Lúnasa , IN VINO VERITAS (album of 2019, not in photo)

A very special CeltCast week!

It is Monday again, after a very special CeltCast week! We have become a foundation and we have also been in the air for five years! On this birthday we started a ‘give away’ promotion for two beautiful albums of PerKelt and Paya Lehane Music ! Do you participate (see livestream last Thursday) and win these albums?

Last week CeltCast colleagues came home after a beautiful Autumn Moon weekend and in the meantime, others were getting ready to go to Fantasy Fest Rijswijk and Zotte Zaterdag Gouda . Of course, we collected new material there!

On the 17th October we visited the concert of Irfan and Cesair , location Poppodium de Peppel . It was a very special evening and we received two remastered albums from Irfan, of which ‘Seraphim’ is now ready for the new server (the old album will be replaced).

In addition to an older Pyrolysis album, the new album ‘Daylight is Fading’ also goes to the new server. Unfortunately this beautiful album is not in the photo, since CeltCast team members really want to have this album at home. And, with reason, since CeltCast is mentioned in the booklet! A big hug for that! 🥰

There’s also an album from Calasaig (2003) transferred to the new server, this album dates back to the time that Alex Sealgaire and I ( Ilona CeltCast ) regularly went to the theater. Our love for the folk music has grown by listening to these old albums.

Today there were thirteen (old and new) albums ready for a new start! Do you know all of them?

Names of the artists: SKRÖMTA , FAUN (2), Clannad Irish Band , Loreena McKennitt , Aelixihr , Naragonia , Calasaig , Triskilian , Irfan , Pyrolysis (2) & VIRELAI

Every time we fall in love with the music of a band

Do you remember that childhood feeling, when you would get your new toy? The excitement, the wonder, the sheer joy of knowing that this is the start of completely new adventures! Well, that’s how we at CeltCast feel every time we fall in love with the music of a band that we had not previously heard. And because of that, next weekend we will probably feel like the proverbial kid in a candystore, as Festival-Mediaval features many, many bands that we have not yet heard perform before!

Various medieval periods brought into the 21st century by SKRÖMTA . The Eastern sounds transported to Germany by ORO – Music from the wild, wild East . A nice dram of jigs and reels by The Aberlours . The moving music of the minstrels of Viscum . And so, so much more!

Will you be joining us on our tour of discovery this weekend? We can promise you adventure and exciting times!
