It’s April 1st… and while you might expect a prank, we’re doing the opposite…
…so instead, we’re announcing two Monthly Markers, giving these tracks extra spotlight as we head into festival season.
For April, we’ve selected two standout releases from across the European folk scene. Over the month, these songs will be played 4–5 times daily on CeltCast Radio and featured in our dedicated Spotify playlist.
Band no. 1: Warmoes (BE)
Song: Radiator Jig

Warmoes is a young Belgian folk band that just released their debut album via Trad Records. “Radiator Jig” has already proven itself as a live favourite. We experienced it first hand at Balhalla Festival, where dancers and musicians came together in a powerful, shared moment.
A must-listen for balfolk dancers and anyone who enjoys energetic, community-driven folk music.
Band no. 2: Merulsa (NL)
Song: Siúil a Rúin

A well-known name in the Dutch folk scene, Merulsa has performed at festivals for years, both solo and with a full band. Her interpretation of the traditional Irish song Siúil a Rúin brings a fresh, emotional depth, carried by her distinctive and warm vocal style.
A beautiful example of how traditional repertoire can be reimagined for modern audiences.
These four tracks will receive increased rotation on CeltCast Radio throughout April, helping listeners discover new music while revisiting familiar voices.
These tracks are also:
