Time flies when you are having fun!

These last 5 days at the Mittelalterlich Phantasie Spectaculum in Dortmund have been a crazy but fun experience. It is hard to believe that it is already over.

The MPS Dortmund had everything we could have asked for and then some more. We experienced, wind, rain, cold, sunshine, warmth, shops, food, drinks, friends, hugs and of course amazing music!

On Saturday we kicked off the festival with a massive line up. Bands like Rapalje Celtic Folk Music , Saor Patrol , Cultus Ferox , Versengold , Saltatio Mortis , Mr. Hurley & Die Pulveraffen , Letzte Instanz and Knasterbart were all on stage that day. You’ll understand that our team of two photographers were racing from stage to stage having an absolute blast! We didn’t even mind the cold and rain.

Sunday was a lot more quiet and relaxing. Traditional a family day, the bands on stage were also reflecting that feel. We even saw the Heavysaurus!

The Monday was a day off for us festival goers, which was very welcome. It offered a day of relaxing, recovering and reflecting on what had already been a good weekend. And we would be getting 2 more of those days. And we needed the rest for Tuesday!

Tuesday was awesome! Again packed full with great music by Harmony Glen , The Cobblestones , Ye Banished Privateers , Forgotten North , The KingsPipers and of course Waldkauz . It was sunny, it was warm and it was special. The atmosphere created by the die-hard festival goes and the bands was something you don’t encounter often.

The closing day was the first of May, a bank holiday in Germany and it was noticeable. It was very busy with a lot of happy families enjoying the market, the shows, drinks, good food, and the music. Harmony Glen, Ye banished Privateers, Saor Patrol, the Cobblestones and Weltenkrieger – Barden des Lichts ensured that the adults were able to dance and sing along, while the kids had once again to see the Heavysaurus… (and we can confirm that it is also enjoyed by many adults. 😉 )

In the end, it was a really good festival that will be staying in our memories forever. It is sad that this was the last MPS in Dortmund but luckily, there are many more MPS festivals this year and the next to go to!

Monthly Marker December 2018: Harmony Glenn

A new month, and thus time for a new Monthly Marker. And since this is “the festive month”, we thought it would be time for a festive song! Obviously we couldn’t go with just any old Christmas song, so we have something very special for you!!

Our dear friends of Harmony Glen have been working on a seasonal song, soon to be THE new seasonal hit of course, and we at CeltCast have the honour of being the very first to bring this song to light! (No, but really. It wasn’t even supposed to be released just yet. Talk about a scoop! 🙂 )

And so we are proud to present: ‘Christmas Is Here‘! A folky and festive ode to the perils of the holiday, which we will be playing five to six times a day throughout all of December. So jingle your bells and come sleigh away with us, as we dance our way towards the new year!

P.S.: We know this song is about Christmas but there are of course many celebrations around this time of year. So, we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone an amazing time, whether it be a Happy Hanukkah, a Merry Christmas, a Blessed Yule, an Awesome Kwanzaa… in short: Happy Holidays to all!

Odd… loose… and wonderful!

At Middeleeuws Winschoten & Fantasy Festival everything is different… odd… loose… and wonderful!! ?

Bands mix, Artists crash each other’s stages, people are invited to the stage, band members dance along in the crowd, The Dolmen play disco… and it all ended with one big mash-up of all with instruments!

Also different was that we sadly had to do without our regular team of photographers, but luckily a hero in the North stepped up to take some pictures for us. Thank you *SO* much Bert Hensema , for these and everything else you managed behind the scenes.

As you will see, these images perfectly show the relaxed, laid-back, slightly crazy feel of what was happening on, in front of and around the stage. And if you’d like to see more of awesome party, check out the many livestreams we sent out to you on our page .
