Castlefest 2018

The Moon and the Nightspirit has steadily been growing

Coming originally from Hungary, The Moon and the Nightspirit has steadily been growing to a well known pagan folk band ever since 2003.

While listening to the beautiful tunes of this duo, you are taken into a green world of an ageless moss-grown forest, sylvan realms, where they weave a web where threads of ancient mysticism, dreamy atmospheres, and a place for pagans to feel at home. It takes you on a journey that will have your feet move and your face pulled up in a smile.

When live on stage Ágnes and Mihály are supported by two more brilliant musicians Gergely Cseh (bass) and Végh Gábor (percussions) to make their unique sound even more full of live and power.

Come and experience this with us at Castlefest in 1.5 weeks time!!! The Moon and the Nightspirit will play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday!

Cliff’s review of… ‘Waldkauz – Mythos (2017)’ is online!

When we found out that the origins of Waldkauz are firmly connected with Castlefest , that Nina and Niklas met Gina , Peter and Lennart there, which in turn was the foundation for the band as we now know it ànd that they were going to close the festivities on the camping stage, it was clear that only one band could be reviewed before we all go to Lisse and Castlefest opens it’s gates again. https://www.facebook.com/events/1952749701424568/

Cliff: When i suggested to do a review of Waldkauz’ album Mythos, the reactions within the CeltCast team were unanimous: – ‘Yes do them first.” – “I second that.” – “You will love the info booklet!” – “Cool! They are such nice people. Well deserved”.

So, the mission was clear. We hope you enjoy the fruit of Cliff’s labour!

You can find the review here .

Árstíðir, an Icelandic group

Árstíðir is an Icelandic group formed in 2008, though many of you will probably know them from a video that went pretty viral in 2013 of them singing Heyr Himna Smiður in a trainstation in Germany. (If you don’t yet know the video we definately suggest you find it on Youtube!)

Since their formation they have released four albums filled with their special blend of classical influences and pop feel. Their music is very hard to put into any category, but words like “ethereal”, “impressive” and “harmonious” certainly fit the bill.

They wooed the crowd of Castlefest last year with their amazing vocal harmonies and we’re certain they will be another highlight this year with their performance on Castlefest’s Forest Stage Saturday the 4th of August!

We always love to go see Gwendolyn Snowdon

This beautiful lady with an angel’s voice has been a CeltCast live-stream guest quite a few times. Either at a festival or in a small intimate setting, we always love to go see Gwendolyn Snowdon play live. And if going to see her live isn’t possible we enjoy just sitting down and listen to her beautiful album ‘Three Strand Braid’.

Besides being a talented musician and singer, Gwendolyn is just the sweetest personality. It is always nice to have a chat and hug with her. Not to mention that she was an awesome guest during her visit to our CeltCast living room!

So needless to say, we are very very happy to see Gwendolyn again at Castlefest ! Gwendolyn will be playing on the Meadow Stage on Friday and Sunday.
